SCABEST Brought X’mas Joy and Jollibee to Almacin & Tabalong Kids

On 29 December 2008, SCABEST celebrated Christmas in the company of selected children numbering about 100 at SCA Quadrangle. The 100 children were selected from Barangays Almacin and Tabalong in coordination with the Catechist Ministry of Sta. Cruz headed by Ms. Belen Muyano. They were treated to several parlor games made joyous by the presence of Jollibee mascot. It culminated to gift giving where each of the 100 children received a gift pack prepared by SCABEST from various donations received.

This is now the 4th consecutive year that SCABEST held its annual gift giving every Christmas season. Said outreach program which was conceptualized by Eden Tongson started in December 2005 with selected children from Lipay as first recipients. In 2006, selected children from Sitio Bangan, Malabago were chosen as recipients for that year’s gift giving. In 2007, SCABEST coordinated with the Catechist Ministry to select children from Tubo-tubo North (or Lupa) as recipients, and held the gift giving for the first time at SCA Quadrangle.

The 2008 SCABEST Gift Giving was headed by Big Brother Balong Movilla who was amply supported by his Kumander-&-Chief Ondette. Those who shared their treasures include Angie Dumapit ($100); Spouses Anna Metra & Jojo Cruz (P6,500); Orlan Cabero (P1,500); Robert Romero (P6,000); Buddie Mantes (P3,000); Anonymous Nena (P3,000); Molly Lua (P3,000); Eden Tongson (P500); Balong & Ondette (P1,171 at 2 cavans of rice); Anonymous EmPoy (P6,000); Marvin Castil (200 pair of slippers); Chie Abille (various grocery items such as kape, spaghetti noodles, chips, etc); Ana Cordero (2 big cakes); and Eric Mose at Robert Romero for wines and spirits during the fellowship.
